Ohio has approximately 250 wineries scattered throughout the state. Today, I’m visiting two on the Lake Erie Shores & Island Wine Trail, Quarry Hill Winery & Orchard and D & D Smith Winery. I have visited quite a few wineries in Ohio, but this was my first visit to both of these.
Thorncreek Winery & Gardens in Aurora, Ohio has definitely made quite a transformation since its change of ownership over 10 years ago. Thorncreek Winery is the vision of David Thorn (DTR Associates) and was redesigned inside and out.
Kirtland, Ohio is a small town in northeast Ohio approximately 20 minutes east of Cleveland. Well-known for being the location of the first Mormon Temple (LDS), Kirtland has quite a few attractions worth exploring in this scenic town.
One thing I quickly learned when I moved to Ohio, during the summer months there are car shows somewhere everyday of the week all over this state! For over 25 plus years Solon, Ohio has had one of the biggest weekly car shows in the country and has even been featured on television shows like My Classic Car.
The Welshfield Inn in Troy Township, Ohio is a beautiful colonial style restaurant situated on 19 acres in the Ohio countryside. I’ll describe this as casual fine dining with country charm. The Inn has fantastic food and an impressive history.
