Barrel Run Crossing Winery & Vineyard in Rootstown, Ohio is one of those wineries that’s just fun to visit. On a beautiful sunny Ohio day we hopped on the motorcycle and journeyed to the countryside.  A quaint boutique winery with a relaxed atmosphere and a friendly staff all add up for an enjoyable afternoon.  But, lets talk about their wines too!

Autumn is a great time to visit our National Parks. The crowds are smaller and the weather is cooler. Grand Teton National Park in Wyoming is an excellent place to take advantage of the outdoor activities this time of year. Over 300,000 acres encompassing the Teton Mountain Range.

Ohio has approximately 250 wineries scattered throughout the state. Today, I’m visiting two on the Lake Erie Shores & Island Wine Trail, Quarry Hill Winery & Orchard and D & D Smith Winery.  I have visited quite a few wineries in Ohio, but this was my first visit to both of these.

Patterson Fruit Farm in Chesterland, Ohio and has been a local favorite for many years. Patterson’s is set in the beautiful Ohio countryside and is open year round. When you walk into the main building the first sight you will behold are the many bags filled with big beautiful apples such as Jonathan, Honey Crisp, McIntosh and so many other varieties to choose from, grab a few samples to try.
