“Rapunzel, Rapunzel, let down your hair”. Do you remember this great line from the Brothers Grimm fairy tale story? Every time I see a castle I’m reminded of this delightful story. The damsel in distress peering out of the castle tower waiting to be saved by her prince charming. Did you know we actually have quite a few castles right here in the state of Ohio?
Keel & Curley Winery in Plant City, Florida offers a blueberry of a good time. Founded by Joe Keel in 2003, a local blueberry farmer, his winery offers a variety of fruit flavored wines, including three types of blueberry wine, a sweet, a semi-dry, and a dry.
North Carolina has really come into its own in wineries. You will find them scattered all over the state now. When I’m visiting North Carolina I like to revisit a few favorites in between exploring ones I haven’t been to. One of my favorites on the Yadkin Valley Wine Trail is Shelton Vineyard & Winery in Dobson.
Continuing my journey along Old Route 8 in Ohio, I ventured into Sarah’s Vineyard Winery & Art Gallery. Although not my first visit, this winery is a bit different from most wineries. When you walk inside this beautiful two-story building (a converted barn), you first notice an eclectic array of specialty art pieces throughout each room.
In North Canton, Ohio you can experience a taste of a Tuscany oasis. Gervasi Vineyard is a family owned winery that is as unique as it is beautiful. The building of the main bistro is an old converted historic barn, stunning on the outside but wait until you step inside.
